Few cars get an infusion of new blood from car enthusiasts quite like the Porsche Carrera GT. This is perhaps the quintessential mid-engined supercar of the last 20 years, and a particularly stunning example specially modified by Zagato
This Carrera GT started life just like most other cars. It was one of 676 examples supplied new to the US and landed on local shores in 2005. It remained in the US until 2011 when it was exported to the UK and since then, it has been serviced exclusively by a Porsche Carrera GT technician.
During previous ownership of the car, it was repainted in Slate Gray by Porsche GB and shortly after was purchased by the current owner. Eager to make this Carrera GT stand out, he sent it to Zagato for its GTZ conversion. The upgrades took six months to complete, and in addition to the car receiving a set of new body panels, it was also repainted in a special color of dark green metallic while the wheels were given a graphite coating
Zagato has only converted six Carrera GTs and one of them is a prototype. Although every Carrera GTZ is special, this one – Chassis 4 of 5 – is the only one to feature a custom interior from Zagato, who redesigned the seats with new leather while also covering the dashboard, armrests, door pockets, A-pillar, and sun visor. The center tunnel and center console are in the same leather. While we don’t know the cost of the interior changes, the exterior modifications cost the owner approximately €400,000
