The new model name comes from Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of the founder of Christian von Koenigsegg, and replaces Agera RS in the company’s production line.
Behind the driver, an updated version of the 5.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine produces 1,280 hp (955 kW) petrol or 1600 hp on the E85. To help achieve much greater power, a system is used to increase air injection within the engine blowing 290.1 psi (20 bar) of air in the turbo to prevent lag.
The transmission features a new nine-speed, multi-clutch, non-sequential design called Light Speed Transmission. Unlike most DCTs that need to go through each gear, the Koenigsegg design enables you to skip unnecessary gears. For example, it can move directly from the eighth to the fifth without moving to the seventh and sixth gear.
