ELECTRIC

TOGG introduces the first fully manufactured electric car in Turkey.

Turkey is not known for its auto industry, but this may change with the emergence of a fully-sized mid-size crossover prototype and a sedan from TOGG, (Türkiye’nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu), the Turkish car maker. The first car appearance conference was held at a public event in the IT Valley in Gebze, and it included President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s appearance.

The new C-SUV will be launched in 2022, with the complete electric powertrain featuring energy efficiency, high-speed delivery, and low cost of ownership. The powertrain of the battery and electric motor was completely developed by TOGG engineers

Customers can choose from two different lithium-ion batteries. The smaller option would be able to travel a distance of 186 miles while the larger package would have to travel 300 miles per charge. Fast charging allows the C-SUV to reach 80 percent of the charge in just 30 minutes. However, TOGG did not announce the potential for any of its battery packs or gave an indication of the maximum charging rate. Fast 30-minute shipments indicate rates of over 150 kilowatts. TOGG will offer an eight-year warranty on battery packs.
The design of electric motors is not uncommon. The base models feature a single electric motor on the rear axle that will save 200 hp. The twin-engine model will add a unit to the front axle, providing C-SUV capabilities, while its production reaches 400 HP. Torque numbers are not yet available, although TOGG says the rear-wheel-drive model can reach 62 mph in 7.6 seconds. While the twin-engine SUV will be able to accelerate in 4.8 seconds.

The design is impressive and provides a long wheelbase with a spacious cabin. TOGG worked alongside Pininfarina, with the aim of building something that would appeal to consumers in Turkey and abroad. The design is also inspired by the culture of Anatolia, especially lavender. The designers printed floral motifs on the net and wheels to confirm the vehicle’s connection to Turkey.

The cabin benefits from a wide range of digital devices, information, and entertainment systems. There is also a screen for travelers, unlike what Porsche does with Taikan. Touch screen interfaces, which include a secondary display at the top of the climate control central console. For the central console, its higher position gives the cabin a cockpit design, while minimizing the control buttons. Aside from gear shift and electronic parking brake. This design is beautiful and attractive.

Suspension devices
MacPherson independent struts on the front axle improve comfort and performance, while the integrated link independent rear suspension provides sporty character and responsive ride with precise handling.
Advanced driver assistance systems include “self-driving on congested roads”, which should be sufficient for the level-two self-driving ability. The system will reduce the burden on drivers, saving time to take advantage of the smart features inside the car.
Thanks to its flexible structure, it will make TOGG C-SUV a smooth transition to “Level 3 and beyond” self-driving. The connected chassis will enable the vehicle to make direct updates to continuously improve its program. In addition to its internet connection for OTA updates, TOGG will boast V2X capabilities, allowing it to chat with smart devices at home as well as the wider electrical network. New services will also be available with the advent of 5G wireless technology.

There is some really innovative technology here, including the 3D assistant. According to TOGG, you will use advanced eye-tracking algorithms and 3D imaging technologies to provide a user experience that goes beyond the standard virtual display.
Thanks to this technology, the driver will not only see the information that appears on the vehicle display without turning a blind eye to the road but also can access all other information related to the road and the environment. Thanks to the augmented reality and enhanced 3D image, the driver will be able to use navigation systems and other driver assistance systems more easily and have a safer, more comfortable and interactive driving experience. TOGG aims to be the first car manufacturer to offer a unique driving experience to its users with this disruptive technology.

TOGG aims to launch C-SUV on the Turkish market sometime in 2022, with additional details being provided as this date approaches.
