When the Genesis GV80 made its global debut, it represented the design cues of the rest of the luxury sedan portfolio in South Korea. This was fully true with the G80 and currently the G70.
Now, Genesis officially unveils the improved G70 for 2022, confirming the expected adoption of the G80 interface, and more.
Hyundai’s luxury arm continues its sporty exterior design for the G70 by improving the design language of its two-tier headlamps called Quad Lamps, highlighting the Genesis grille bearing the Genesis logo that now bears a variation.
Looking at the side design, the G70 gets two lines to accentuate the muscular look. However, the G80’s dual-LED turn signals have been abandoned and replaced with a side air outlet that has been optimized for efficiency. The new G70 naturally gets a redesigned wheel assembly. The rear part reflects the four-spoke headlight from the front design, while the slim trunk lid that appears prominently at the top as a rear spoiler, the new design complements the dual oval exhaust manifolds and the lower diffuser in body color.

Inside, the improved Genesis G70 features a driver-focused design, but most importantly, it hosts the car’s latest connectivity options. The new 10.25-inch infotainment system crowns the dashboard and features an exclusive Genesis UI design that supports the latest OTA wireless updates, wifi update feature, Valet Mode and CarPay Wireless charging has also been updated to accommodate larger smartphones.

No powertrain specifications have been revealed yet, but reports have circulated of the loss of the manual gearbox. We’ll learn more about this as we get closer to the official debut at the new Genesis G70 launch in Korea next month.
